THE TEDDY BEAR QUILT PROJECT

Formerly known as Extra Time.

June 19. Our last guild meeting was a week ago already and our next meeting isn’t until August 14th, and that gives me, starting today, 56 extra full days of sewing available!  Woohoo!  The first few days I didn’t do much as I hurt my left arm (left-handed, of course) and rested a little bit.

But I have been in  my studio most of this week, sorting through scraps into colors and I have 7 small containers full ready to be turned into quilts.  I still have 3 more large bins to sort through, but I thought I would start with just one as I am running out of space to store them.  I figure I will go with one color until I finish the box and go to the next one.  No problem as it was more like if it looked like pink or close to it, it went in the box, (etc).  That gives me a little wiggle room to play with the colors.  Most of them will be turned into kid’s quilts and I may do more string blocks until they are gone.

This morning I am picking up my Halloween quilt.  I had it quilted as it was too big for me to handle.  I still need to clear off my table before I do anything else first.

I hope everyone has a productive and fun day of sewing!

UPDATE: I now have 54 days left. Yes, I am keeping track!

I am counting down the days until then and I have started a list of all the stuff I want to accomplish by then.

I already have another finish, a Halloween one that I am calling “I Want My Mummy”.  My friend quilted it for me and it is so fun to look at!  Here is the front and the back! I love the way it was quilted. Zoom in and you can see the images in it. The next picture is the back of it and it shows the quilting too.

Now for my actual list for the next 54 days.

Just 14 more baby and/or doll quilts to go! These will be for Children Network Service and I have one already started. I was informed that Marjoree Mason Center is not taking quilts or stuffed animals at this time, so I chose Children Network Service instead. No pictures yet, but soon.

A veteran comfort quilt. I need backing and batting to finish it.

An old secret sister quilt top that needs quilting. I have the backing but not the batting, yet. A friend made the blocks, all hexagons and it has taken me a few years on how to set it.

Another secret sister set of blocks that needs setting. And yes, I know they need pressing, they have been folded for a while.

A gift for another friend.

Signs for the next quilt show, no touching.

Valentine quilt. This one is huge and I need more backing, and of course, it needs batting.

2 string quilts

Thankfully, most of them are already sandwiched and I should be able to finish most of it in a month and a half, and seriously, most of the kid quilts are birthed and that makes it a lot faster, or I will do the quilt as you go method.

Monday, June 23! Yesterday, day 53, not much happened except for some straightening up stuff and choosing the colors for the gift I am making for my Secret Sister. Shh, I am using some pretty blue strips as I heard she loves blue!

Time to get started!

Tuesday, June 24! Now down to 52 days! Today we are taking the grands out to Clovis and walk around a bit this morning. Before this happens, I hope to finish some edge-to-edge quilting on a baby quilt and possibly finish up Cattitude. Will post more later today. I did finish quilting the baby quilt but am not happy with it. I think I will consider it a practice quilt and use it for practice rather than donating it.

Wednesday, June 25! Day 51. Today is my sister’s birthday. I sent her a quilt and I hope she likes it. I call it Grandma Owen’s Garden as it reminds me of her yard full of flowers!

About ready to go in and start again. Maybe this morning I will concentrate on getting on edge-to-edge quilting one of the string blocks. Or maybe, I will do a couple of kid quilts. I will let you know with pictures later on.

After doing some straightening up in my room, I had to so I could make a path to the table, I finally organized my projects, put them in piles in order of what to work on first. Honestly, does that method ever work?

My first project, so far, is another Unicorn Doll quilt. Still need to put more borders on it and it will be small, so a child can play with it. I have the perfect toy, a little stuffed Pegasus, ready to be wrapped up.

I am making a gift for my secret sister and she loves blues. This is from a jelly roll and I love the colors. I thought I would dark, light. But maybe start with dark going to lighter colors. Who knows, maybe there will be enough to make one for myself!

Well, dinner is done so that means I can either clean the kitchen or go back in my studio. Decisions, decisions!

Thursday, June 26! Now down to 50 days to finish projects. One thing about finishing projects is that I find more scraps than what I started out with. And why is that when you’re working on a project, one piece always goes missing and it’s usually one of a kind and you need it and you find it later after the project is finished. Enough of that. I am going out for a bit this morning, just to get out of the house, and I will start afresh when I return.

Friday, June 27! Now down to 49 days!

This is what I finished last night. Another doll quilt featuring unicorns and quilted, edge-to-edge with a large daisy pattern. I wrapped a stuffed pegasus inside and tied it with a pink polka-dot ribbon! Only 13 more quilts to go!

Today, I have a large string quilt that I want to quilt on my embroidery machine. Hopefully it won’t give me too many issues today. Will be back later hopefully with more news and pictures!

Saturday, June 28! Now counting down at 48 days to finish!

Yesterday was not as productive as I had hoped it to be. I am still having issues with my machine and thread issues, especially getting the tension just right. So, I spent most of my day working with it and finally decided to put it back on its table, cover it up and try again another day. Also, I had to order to a new bobbin case for the machine and will have to wait for its arrival from Vac and Sew. Still thinking about a new machine, but just not able or really willing to spend the money right now. Not a problem, I can still quilt with my regular machine, but prefer the edge-to-edge designs. My larger quilts will just have to wait a while.

I also made a decision about some of my leftover pieces. I love pink, but right now, I am sick of working with it. I put it aside in a small shoebox along with some other pieces that I am out of love with, for the time being. Now, some of these pieces are small and may be used for crumb blocks later, and the others, it seems like no matter how much I use, it keeps multiplying, no matter what! And remember, I still have 3 more large bins to sort through that are full of scraps. Maybe I will use them again at another time or they may possibly go to the free table at guild meeting.

We went out this morning and ran a few errands and now that lunch is over, I am going into my studio and decide on my next few kids’ quilts. I have a small black scrap bin that I am going to play in. Yes, I know, black can be so depressing! But not if I put some fun bright colors in with the black as a contrast! I have black and black with cute prints, and bright colors, plus grey. and it will be fun. Pictures coming later today!

Oops! I did not get to do that as I got caught up in sorting more fabric and then a dear friend called and we chatted for over an hour and a half. I don’t mind as she lives far away and I haven’t seen her in years! It was a welcome pause as it was over 100 degrees yesterday and the sun shines in on my windows full blast! Just too hot to even turn on the iron.

Sunday, June 29! Only 47 more days to try and finish a few projects!

Today, since it will be hot again, no lights will be turned on in my studio as I will have plenty of sun. I went online and checked the manual for my machine and tried a few suggestions, hopefully those will help. Maybe there will be more pictures later.

This is the beginnings of a kid’s quilt . I have had this umbrella and flamingo fabric marinating in my stash for years and now they finally have a chance to shine! I have nothing else that goes with and I really do not want to cut into yardage when I have so much of abundance of scraps. I like the layout and I have a perfect little pink teddy bear ready to snuggle under it.

I also have some odd seaside fabric with crabs, fish and waves and I think that will be fun as the border. Now, if you look in the corners, I also have 2 pieces of black fabric with little frogs. I thought they would be fun as cornerstones. I wish I had two more, but I don’t. After dinner, I will go in and put it together.

As I mentioned earlier, I have an abundance of pink that just keeps multiplying, hence my user name, thepinkquilter! I hope to post more pictures this evening or possibly tomorrow morning. That’s as far as I got last night. Something I ate last night, very spicy sausage, really upset my stomach plus it being hot, I needed to stop.

Monday, June 30! Only 46 days left, just a month and a half, give or take!

It is still fairly early here but once I get a few things online taken care of, I will be in my room sewing! The quilt above will be another quilt as you go and won’t take too long, and I have 3 more that are ready to be laid out. Actually, since I have a lot of 4.5 squares cut, I will probably go ahead and repeat it with maybe some other colors thrown in. I am actually excited about the ideas popping into my mind! I have some fun cat fabric, odd flowers and more kid prints! This is going to be a lot of fun!

WOOHOO! Not only did I get the top done, except for the outer border, I also have another top ready. Just need to sandwich them and they should be finished by tomorrow afternoon. I had planned to do a couple of others but then I needed to go to Vac and Sew and get something, fabric of course! I searched through my multiple bins and couldn’t find any farm animals for a John Deere quilt that I was going to do today. But I have it now and it is going to be so cute! I still need to lay it out and I hope to get to cut it before I go to bed.

Oh, I guess you want to see the pictures! Here they are. One with flamingos, butterflies and frogs. Oh, and umbrellas and unicorns! I have an abundance of those fabrics, so they will find themselves in other quilts. I have a sweet little pink teddy bear to go with this one.

And for the bonus top. I found this as a leftover piece of cowboys but nothing to go with it, sew I decided to go ahead and use a blue border around it, and then a little larger outer one that is red with white horseshoes. Still need to find a backing for it.

I still need to trim both tops. I haven’t decided what stuffed animal to go with this one. Maybe a brown teddy bear or if I can find one, a small stuffed horse. What do you think?

See you tomorrow!

Tuesday, July 1! I am now down to 45 days!

Wow, time has been flying by! We went out early this morning to get some groceries before it reached 100. It is only 1045 am and it is 94 degrees! I haven’t made it into my room yet, but about ready to venture in there. I plan to finish the tops and get them quilted today. They don’t take to long as I will just go ahead and birth them as they are small. I have another one that I want to work on, it has some John Deere leftover pieces, just enough long strips to use as borders, and some fun farm animal FQ to use for the center.

I also found more frog fabric in various colors and that will become another top, plus a lot of butterfly and dragonflies. Maybe I will use those along with the frogs just for the fun of it. If I get these four quilts finished, I will only need 9 more to turn in. And on that note, I need to get started!

I will post more later today.

And here is my Cowboy Teddy Bear quilt, number 9! Only 11 more to go! I think it turned out so sweet! Sorry about the quality of the picture, I will take a better picture later, just so happy to have it finished.

I chose a dark blue polka dot for the backing and border is small horseshoes. You can see the border better in the next picture. And here is it all wrapped up!

I plan to stay up a little later tonight so maybe I will get the Umbrella Teddy Bear quilt finished tonight. It’s small and doesn’t take long as I will birth it and not worry about the binding. I will probably post pictures tomorrow.

Wednesday, July 2! 44 more days!

After I finish the Umbrella Teddy Bear quilt, that will give me a total of 10 quilts! Woohoo! I can’t believe I am halfway there already. Not sure about everyone else, but I like to set deadlines for myself and I don’t always meet them, but I am very happy that I am keeping up with this! Two reasons, I am meeting my personal challenge and as crazy as it seems, the stash, even though it seems to be never-ending, is actually going down very slowly. Well, it’s 8 am here in Fresno, and I am ready to go in and get started! I will post more later.

And here is !!! I present to you the Umbrella Teddy Bear quilt!

Not sure what the next one will be, possibly John Deere, some sleepy bears and maybe zoo animals. I will decide that later.

It has been a long day and I am going to clean my room, have some herbal tea and relax. See you tomorrow!

Thursday, July 3! Only 43 more days to go and 10 more Teddy Bear quilts to go!

I am taking the day off from sewing for 2 reasons. First, I need to clean up my room and sort through my fabric mainly as it is a real mess in there. Second, not feeling too well today and just want to take it slow. I will be back either later tonight or tomorrow.

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY! I am now at day 42! Yesterday was a quiet day, as I rested and needed it and I am feeling better. No sewing done, but I do have two bags full for the Salvation Army. Maybe more if I keep digging! I decided that if I am no longer in love with the fabric or the project, it is gone. Believe me, I probably won’t miss it anyway so why hang onto it.

I think I made a mistake in my counting of Teddy Bear Quilts, but am not certain. I need to go to the guild’s stash and count to see how many quilts are there. I thought I had 7 there but not sure. Either way, I still have more of those to make. No problem. As I sorted through fabric yesterday, I have more than enough scraps.

Once I finish some paperwork and my coffee, I will be back in there sewing away! Will post more later. Well, best laid plans…. No sewing done, more of another day of sorting and resting.

Saturday, July 5. I am down to day 41. Just about to get started. Chat later.

No real sewing done but I did go through all of my backings and projects in progress, and I have several backings that are perfectly fine but I just won’t use. I also put projects that I no longer love either into the to go bag or put the pieces away. While I was doing that, I came across an old project called Grribit, cartoon frogs of all types and that will be my next Teddy Bear Quilt. It is really cute and of course, is in different shades of green and just sweet! That will be the true . (And yes, I had miscounted.) I already have some blocks made and since it is a doll quilt it will go together fairly quickly. I will post pictures tomorrow probably.

Tomorrow will be drop off day. I have a bunch of DVD movies that need to find a new home, stuff for the guild stash, and a few other things. Feels good to destash.

That’s all for tonight, and even there was no sewing involved I feel like I accomplished a few things.

Sunday, July 6. Now at day 40.

We went out this morning and wanted to drop stuff off, but where we wanted to go weren’t open and will open tomorrow. That’s okay. We had a nice drive and the weather wasn’t too hot, and had a nice lunch. I really need to get my new glasses adjusted, our cat rolled over on them while they were on my dresser. And now they are a bit askew. Thankfully I can still sew and use my computer without them. Once I get a few things around the house taken care of, I will go in and start working again!

Monday, July 7. Day 39 already!

Last night I did get a top made with more flamingoes, fish and other nautical stuff, and just have to sandwich it and quilt it. It is a small doll quilt. After I finish it, I will work on Grribit. Yes, a frog themed doll quilt!

This morning was full of taking care of errands, mainly getting my glasses adjusted as my cat had rolled over them making them cattywampus! Now that I can see again, I hope to get a lot more done! I dropped off some backing at the stash, and picked up the other Teddy Bear quilts, and I do have 9 quilts ready, leaving 11 more to make. Maybe by the end of next week, I can have them finished and ready to go! I will post more later today!

NUMBER 10 is Finished!! I call it Something Fishy as it has flamingos and fish and is wrapped around a tiny blue dinosaur that is adorable! I am halfway there to finishing my goal of 20!

Now, I can go in and work on Grribit! I paused on it as I need to figure out how to lay it out! I will be back tomorrow morning!

Tuesday, July 8! Day 38.

I have chosen which blocks to use and am still in the process of laying them out. Just not sure if I like it just yet. I will work on it later this morning after I get back. I am having coffee with friends today and then a little window shopping. Just need to get out on my own for a while. I love my hubby but 24/7, I just need a break! I will post pictures later. Well, that window shopping turned into buying 5 more good sized stuffed animals for the quilts and a lot of fun with my friends!

Wednesday, July 9. Day 37.

I didn’t make any progress on it yesterday, but I did find some more stuffed animals for the remaining 10 quilts. In fact, I am going to change out a few of them, such as the Cowboy one with a stuffed horse instead of the puppy. I’m trying to match them a little bit better. I have plenty of stuffed animals, and the leftover ones will go with me to the Children’s Network Services around the end of the month. I believe every child should have a stuffed animal just for them to hug, and of course a quilt to go with it.

We went out this morning and I turned in 2 bags and a box full of DVDs that I no longer want to watch and I am just really in the mood for decluttering. Received a little bit of money and I will put that aside for more stuff for kids’ quilt materials. Just about to go back in and get started, so I will post more later tonight! I did a little in my studio, more like sorting through stuff.

Thursday, July 10! Down to Day 36!

Today is a day when I am going to be home all day and plan to work on my quilts. It’s only just 9 am here in California and yes, I did sleep in as I have bouts of insomnia at times. And, yes, I am still stuck on Grribit deciding on the borders and placement and should have it resolved this morning. Will be back later.

And here it is with the first border on! I just love the frogs, they are so funny! I had some blocks already made and decided to use them and then add in plain blocks. I still need to press it.

Friday, July 11! Day 35.

Purrl is our 1 year old cat and is still going through the T-rex with attitude stage. I had to take care of her last night as she stepped in some cleaner, and I didn’t want her licking herself. I washed her down and cleaned her. Surprisingly she did okay with being washed, but a little fiesty at times. I don’t think she appreciated me trying to help her. After she settled down, so did I, but I was up every 3 hours to make sure she was going to be okay, and thankfully she is back to her young, ornery self. And I woke up feeling sick to my stomach. It’s going to be a quiet day of stitching and resting.

YEA!!! Grribit is finished! This is , so 9 more to go! Now I need to find a stuffed frog to go with it! It is a small doll quilt about 30 x 30 and done via the birthing method. Very happy with it!

Sunday, July 13. Day 33.

I completely missed posting yesterday but just as well. I went out for coffee with a friend in the morning and then shopping for a stuffed small frog for Grribit. I wound up with a turtle instead but it is too big for the quilt. That’s okay, I can use it for a different one. In fact, now that I found some new stuffed animals, I will probably go ahead and change a few of them out. Afterwards, I came home to 103 degree heat and it was too hot to sew, and I wound up cleaning my studio and watching Titanic. We went out this morning with a friend for an early birthday breakfast for hubby and had a wonderful visit. But now, my stomach is very upset, so I am taking it slow and staying close to home. Now, that we are caught up, and I feel a little better, I am going to go through some of my patterns and see what the next quilt will be. I need to get started as I only have 9 more to go! I have done several doll quilts, so it is time to make a few larger ones. I will catch up with everyone later.

Monday, July 14. Down to Day 32!

I have top finished, now to decide on the backing for it. Actually, I might go with another border for size. It is a small kid’s quilt with alternating squares of fun fish in a blue background and light green, and then a border of light striped green. I thought about going with blue but it was too much for it, and also I think that the green will be perfect for the turtle. After dinner, I will finish it up. Not as much as I wanted to get done, but my studio has 3 windows that face east with the sun directly in my room, and it gets very warm in there. When it cools down, 102 now, then I will go back in there. I will post more later tonight and probably quilt it tomorrow. I feel more like piecing right now, rather than getting the batting out.

Here it is with the first border on. Still deciding on the second one.

Tuesday, July 15. Day 31!

About to go in and tackle the second border, maybe a darker blue. I have an eye appt this afternoon, and a few errands to do.

Friday, July 18. Down to 28 days! I am still determined to get the last 8 quilts finished before the end of the month, and I know that I can do it!

Hello Everyone! Since Wednesday, I haven’t done any sewing, except to put on the top borders. Well, it was Doug’s birthday and we celebrated by going to the Shinzen Gardens here in Fresno rather than driving to the coast. Just as well, the roads were blocked and a lot of detours, and just too hot to drive 3 hours there and back. Sorry to say I didn’t get any shopping done, but I am still looking at ideas for the Lovely Ugly prizes.

We had a wonderful time at the Gardens, nice, cool, shady and just absolutely gorgeous! I think I even have a few ideas rolling around in my head for more quilts.

I do not know what happened to my previous posts, I thought I had saved them. Well, not a problem. I will be back later this afternoon.

Sunday, July 20! 28 Days left until the next guild meeting!

Teddy Bear Quilt is now finished and I just have the stuffed animal to tuck inside it. I am debating between the turtle or a whale for it. Decisions, decisions! I will post a picture of it with my choice later, but for now here is a picture of the quilt by itself.

As you can see, I decided to go with a blue polka-dot on the outside border and the back is a mix of multi-colored polka-dots, elongated. I did the birthing method on it (the birthing method). Later today, I plan to do some simple strip quilts. I have a lot of fun coordinating fabrics to choose from.

Time to go put the roast in the oven.

Wednesday, July 23, 2025! Down to Day 25! What happened to the last couple of days, you ask? I did get a “little” sewing done, but was not feeling well on Monday and Tuesday. But you can’t keep a good quilter down for long.

Sew, an update starting with pictures. The first one is , Grribit. I couldn’t find a frog at all, so I am using a Seahorse instead. Who knows, I may find one yet, after all I have until the end of the month to turn them in. I know I can do it!

And now , Under The Sea. I found a cute little stuffed blue whale that was begging to be wrapped up!

Both quilt tops can be found if you scroll up just a little bit.

And now introducing !! This one is called Sweetie Pie! I had a lot of small pieces of cupcake and ice cream cone fabric, and the backing for it has candy hearts all over it. Sugar overload!! I still need to sandwich and quilt it.

And this is ! Not sure of a name yet or actually the other fabrics, but I just love the sheep and knitting needles.

I plan to quilt Sweetie Pie tonight, but first it’s time to fix dinner. Chat later!

Thursday, July 24, 2025. 24 More days to go! This is almost is suspenseful and exciting as waiting for Christmas Day to arrive!

Now introducing , Sweetie Pie! Just too yummy!

Sweetie Pie quilt with Pink Teddy Bear

Backing for Sweetie Pie.

Friday, July 25, 2025. 23 more days!

The TB quilt top is finished and will be quilted tonight.  I am naming it, for now, Baa Baa.  You can see why from the picture.  If you look at the side borders, that fabric will also be the backing for it!  I like the idea of the polka dots!  And on the plus side, there is enough for another quilt!  Woohoo!!

I will be back tomorrow afternoon with more to share, that is after the Kimberbell Event online in the morning.

Sunday, July 27, 2025. Down to 21 days! Wow! This is going by fast! Either way, is finished! Only 6 more to go!!

Here is a picture of the backing for Baa Baa (for lack of a better name). I used a muted soft rainbow of purple, pink, blue, yellow little half moons. Isn’t it sweet! And next to it is the finished quilt with a soft grey binfing.

And here is our sweet little sheep tucked inside!

Still deciding on what will be but I should be back tomorrow with more pictures. Tonight I am going to my daughter’s house and she is going to help me wrap them and get their ties straightened.

Tuesday, July 29, 2025! Down to 19 days and is finished! Only 5 more to go!

I call this one On The Farm. I have some cute baby fabric with cows, horses with the sounds they make on it, and then did the borders with 2 red strips with farm animals and the other two in green with sheep. Here are the pictures. I found a stuffed cow and she is now wrapped up waiting for someone to take her home!

Quilt top. Wrapped up Cow. Backing.

Since I have an abundance of strings and strips leftover, I am going to make 9 string blocks and put them together into a quilt. There is a big mix of leftovers from the others and I think it should make it a fun eye-spy quilt.

Here are my starter strings for the eye spy quilt . Don’t worry, I have more than enough in another bin, just in case I run out!

Oh, and I do recycle old phone book pages as the backing for string block

Thursday, July 31, 2025. 17 days to finish, or 2 weeks and 3 days. I will be finished by next week as there are only 4 more to make! Well, 4 and a half, as I am finishing up the string quilt. Here is a picture.

I almost ran out of strings to finish it, and the rest is either strings I didn’t want to use or were mostly just crumbs. I will use those later. Now, I just need to get the borders and sashing cut and sewn on, mostly just to make it a little bigger. There are 9 blocks at 8.5 inches and I want to grow it just a little bit more.

As for the last 4 quilts, I am still deciding. One is definitely going to be dinosaurs as I have a lot of prints. There will be a zoo theme and maybe a couple of sleepy time themes for the younger children to cuddle with. These are mostly 9 patch or strips, simple patterns. I hope to have these done by Tuesday or Wednesday of next week. Thankfully they don’t take long to make, it’s more time consuming deciding what goes into it and the layout.

I hope to be back tonight or early tomorrow morning depending on how the day goes.

Friday, August 1, 2025. 16 Days to go! I did not get any sewing done at all as I am down with a head cold and feel yucky! Hopefully tomorrow I will feel well enough to do some sewing.

Monday, August 4, 2025. 13 Days to go. I did do some sewing but it was slow going as I was ill most of the weekend, but I am feeling a lot better today!

is almost finished, just needs a little more quilting on it. Not as crazy about it as I thought I would be, but it is still usable. But I am not happy with how it turned out. Maybe it would make a good bed for the cat to sleep on.

is in progress. It is a Dinosaur theme, ROAR! It is a quilt as you go. Once it is completed, only 3 more to go! I know that I can get them done before Thursday!

I will post pictures later.

TUESDAY, AUGUST 5, 2025! Only 12 more days until the next guild meeting, August 14! The last few months have been an adventure in creativity, sewing and yes, a little frustration at times, and for just now, I am taking a break from making Teddy Bear Quilts. Oh, before you start saying why, let me explain. I have been making TB Quilts only for the past 44 days. I have not worked on any other projects since I started and I really need a break. I will finish the other 5, (yes, that includes 16 and 17) later and in time for the guild meeting to show off. I am in the process of wrapping 15 TB in a plastic bag, making sure that they are clean and wrapped nicely and then on Thursday, August 7, I will deliver them to the Children’s Services Network. I can always bring more to them at a later date. I am also looking into contacting the police department as I know that some of their patrol cars carry small care packages for children who are in need.

Now this is not to say that I will stop making TB Quilts. I will keep it up as that is my main goal, and that I believe strongly that every child should have their own quilt to cuddle with, and this time I have added stuffed animals to talk to and share secrets with. Most of these quilts are not very big, though there are a few larger ones, but most of them are small, doll quilts designed for playing.

Now for a slideshow of Teddy Bear Quilts:

Here are the first 6. They are wrapped up in plastic to keep them clean, so forgive the glare.

The first one is called By The Sea and has a seahorse.

This one is called on The Farm with a sheep. This is called Pokémon.

The first Teddy Bear quilt

Flamingoes. I have a lot of that fabric.

Lion Heart, I will protect you!

******************************************************************************

The next 4 are all Teddy Bears without a theme.

Sweet Tooth with a Cotton Candy Teddy Bear.

On the Farm , with a Cow!

Grribit with a Turtle. I couldn’t find a frog anywhere.

Pegasus.

Giddyup Cowboy with a Horse

And this is the end of the TB Quilts. For now. I will be continuing to make these for other organizations.

Thank you for dropping by!

One little note. I actually did finish 16 quilts. The last one was the dinosaur one and I found a stuffed toy to go inside. I dropped off all of them with the help of my granddaughter, Annalee and my dear hubby. They went to the Children’s Network Services at the library. Every Friday they have a playdate for children 0-5 and they said they would make sure that each child gets to take one home. I am so happy and I feel that they will be a blessing to those kids! PRAISE GOD!

Hello and welcome to my website! My name is Donna. My hubby and I are retired. We have twin daughters and are blessed with 4 grandchildren. We are owned by a cat, Purrl. who loves to supervise and is very nosy. I have been quilting since 1996. In addition to making quilts for my family and friends, I also make charity quilts for Marjoree Mason Center and Valley Children's Hospital. Marjoree Mason Center is a local organization here that helps and supports battered and abused women and children get out of abusive relationships. Every Christmas I make several baby quilts for the women, with a small stuffed animal or toy. I also belong to the San Joaquin Valley Quilters' Guild here in Fresno. Since I retired, I have been trying to finish most of my UFOs, but my stash is way out of control! I have lately gotten into designing quilts and enjoy that even more than sewing them! I love colors of all types and consider myself to be a true scrappy quilter and I do love playing with designs. I am the owner/moderator of Scrappy Quilters on Facebook, where we are very active with many mystery quilts, challenges and swaps. I welcome you to come by and check us out at https://www.facebook.com/groups/ScrappyQuilters. Thank you for dropping by and I hope to see you again soon.
