When God Seems Far Away

Psalms 13:1-6

The Living Bible

“How long will you forget me, Lord? Forever? How long will You look the other way when I am in need? How long must I be hiding daily anguish in my heart? How long shall my enemy have the upper hand? Answer me, O Lord my God, give me a light in darkness lest I die. Don’t let them gloat that I am down.

BUT I will always trust in You and in Your mercy and shall rejoice in Your salvation! I will sing to the Lord because He has blessed me so richly!”

WE have all gone through times when it seems God has turned His face away from us and it can be scary at times.

WE have all gone through times when it seems God has turned His face away from us and it can be scary at times. We wonder why or what we did wrong. But what if He hasn’t turned away?

I am going through a quiet time right now, but He has assured me that He has NOT left me, He is still there, working quietly and to just TRUST HIS TIMING! Sometimes the quiet is allowing YOU to heal, rest and recharge. HE doesn’t turn away from US! We have turned away from HIM! Sometimes, we need to lean in a little closer as He is whispering and not yelling. Turn your ears, heart and eyes to Him, He is waiting for YOU to listen!

Jesus sometimes allow us to go through quiet times so that we can reflect on our situation, but that doesn’t mean that He is angry or upset with me. That silence is used as a time to grow closer rather than turn further away. He is preparing You for something new and wonderous but we have to be patient and wait on Him and His timing. You cannot rush the silence away and when You do that, you are blocking the blessings that He has for you. When you truly believe, trust, and have faith in Him, and let HIM do His wonders, you will be amazed and blessed by what He has in store for you.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus and Holy Spirit, thank YOU for being there even when we will feel that You are far away. Bless YOUR HOLY NAME ABOVE ALL! I serve only YOU and I humble myself and submit willingly to YOU!

Lord, please check my heart, mind, actions, and words! Is there something there hidden away that I haven’t surrendered to You? If so, please bring it out into the light and remove it! Lord, I cannot grow closer to You when I hide things, that is not what YOU want of me. You want all of me to be submitted to YOU!

Lord, bring this lost sheep back into the fold, hold me tight, cleanse me, and close the gate tightly lest I run off again. Keep those temptations away, out of my heart, mind and actions! Thank YOU for chasing after me and bringing me home to YOU!
