On the Train Testimony

This is a true story and is an example of never knowing who might meet and be able to help you to reach out.

A few years ago, I was on Amtrak going up to Oregon to visit my sister. I was traveling with a friend and she had everything spread out and I couldn’t sleep, so I went up to the observation deck to check emails, etc.

I got up to get a drink, walked around and tehn I noticed a young woman, about 30 or so and she looked confused and upset. Jesus gently told me to “Go and talk to her.”

I went and sat down across from her. We chatted for a bit and she opened up to me.

It seems that she had birth parents who gave her up when she was little and she was adopted. Her adopted parents were really hard on her and then, when her real parents got their act together and took her back hpme.  I don’t remember all of the details. Her real parents were not much better, and she was abused. I think the court intervened and sent her to a psychiatrist who doped her up on antidepressants, etc. She was on her way to another court appt and was depressed, tired and confused.

She asked me if she should honor her parents even though they were not good people. We talked about that for a bit. We were talking about the 10 commandments and following them. She had confused love with honor and she thought that she had to honor them no matter what.

I sat and explained that even though your parents were not good people, you should still love them, BUT, you don’t have to honor their actions. I said that you don’t honor a person who shoots someone and you don’t need to honor those actions.

And I also told her that she should still love them anyway but that you don’t have to like the situation she had been in. I told, actually ministered to her, that loving them is good and it gives you peace and closure with it and with comes forgiveness and then compassion.

She already was a believer but very torn up inside and confused. We prayed about it and we talked a little more. I can still remember the look of relief on her face after praying. She called me her Angel. All because He said talk to her! She told me that she felt lIke she had finally been seen and heard.

I didn’t see her again after that.

AMEN!
