Wrath Turned To Forgiveness

The Living Bible

Jeremiah 9:3, and 23 And Romans 15:13

“They bend their tongues like bows to shoot their arrows of untruth. They care nothing for right and go from bad to worse; they care nothing for me.” Says the Lord.”

Jumping down to verse 23.

“The Lord says: Let not the wise man bask in his wisdom, nor the the rich man in his riches. Let them boast in this alone: That they truly know Me and understand that I am the Lord of Justice and of righteousness whose love is steadfast; and I love to be this way.”

And to Romans 15:13. “So I pray for you Gentiles that God who gives you hope will keep you happy and full of peace as you believe in Him. I pray that God will help you overflow with hope in Him through the Holy Spirit’s power within you.”

Jeremiah in the first section was voicing God’s despair over how his people were acting and we see that repeating all throughout history. God was angry and ready to scatter them around the world. And here and now, our world is doing the same.

And then He calls for repentance and for us to trust and obey Him only and not in our own wisdom. He wants us to TRUST in HIM alone, that we know Him, and understand His PLAN for us.

Romans echoes this with the Gentiles, that we put our HOPE in Him alone and to trust His Holy Spirit.

PRAYER: Dear Lord! I praise Your Holy Name!

I pray that I will turn away from my wicked desires, my tongue that loves to lie, and all other evil things of this world. I realize now I am nothing without YOU! Please do not leave me outside, I want to be in YOUR PRESENCE ONLY.

I pray and beg instead for YOUR MERCY AND GRACE that only YOU can give and change my HEART through YOUR SON, Jesus Christ! Only through change can I truly BOAST of YOUR unfailing love for me, righteousness, and justice.

Oh, Holy Spirit, come to me, fill me with PEACE, HOPE, and LOVE and let that overlow from my SOUL to others around me. AMEN!
