2026 is right around the corner and that means it is time for changes, new ideas and of course, a new project!

Introducing our new 2026 quilt, Spring Fever. Only 5 more days until we start!

January 10, 2026: I will be posting yardage at 1030 a.m. today and you can start choosing your fabric. Me, I decided to go with sprng colors, green, pink and a light shade of yellow. It took a while to choose and then my computer decided to act up. Sorry about the delay.

Here are the colors I chose, a pretty pink floral, medium green, and a medium pink. You will also need approximately 1 and a half yards of white and another solid color for the first border. We will handle that later.

You will probably need 1.5 yards of each color for the blocks.

I hope to see you soon! Please feel free to post if you have any questions! Please post pictures of your fabrics, there are so many options!

You can choose your own colors. It is a fairly easy pattern to work with and the instructions will be posted on January 15, 2026.

See you then!

Be sure to press follow to keep up!

Mark this date: January 15, 2026 11:00 am. I will be posting cutting info!

CORRECTION TO YARDAGE:

This quilt has a center with 4 repeating blocks and then the outside borders. This is an estimate based on my color choices. Today, we will just be cutting the fabric for the center.

CUTTING INSTRUCTIONS:

For the pink and green you will need 4 yards.

For the background, 3 yards.

From the cream/light background, cut:

12) 3 3 7/8 inch squares, cutting in half on the diagonal.

24) 1 1/5 inch squares

From the pink and the green fabric, cut:

12) 3 3 7/8 inch squares, cutting in half on the diagonal.

24) 1 1/5 inch squares

I will be back on Saturday morning with the next step.

***Cutting note. I found that it is easier to cut 4 inch squares for the HST and then after sewing, cut them down to 3.5 inches.

Saturday, Jan 17.

Note: I am referring to my colors for reference.

Take your pink and green 3 7/8 inch (or 4 inch) squares, lay them on top of each other. Pin them, and make HST. I did the 2 at a time method as you will need 24 altogether and will be used in 4 main blocks.

I posted a link in case you might need it.

Now, this quilt looks like you might need flying geese blocks, but you don’t. The way the blocks come together form that illusion.

I will be gone the rest of today and will be back tomorrow afternoon for the next step. See you soon.

Hello! Sorry that I am late but I was having problems with cutting and sewing the block together. Nothing serious, just wrong size and then I accidentally sewed the wrong sides together. Just another fun afternoon!

Before we go further with the block, you have an option of doing either a 9 patch or a 4 patch block. But you need to stay with one or the other, otherwise it looks a little off. I chose to do a simple 4 patch and it measures at 4.5 inches, unsewn. Here is a picture of mine but it is not sewn together yet.

Mixed block #1.

The finished block should measure 9 inches.

Back to the 4 patches. You will need 3 of these for each block for a total of 12 blocks.

Cut 24 1.5 inch pieces of your background and the pink. (Remember, I am using my colors as a reference.)

Sew together and place at opposite corners. Then, place the half square triangles on the other side. The center should have a 4 patch in the center surrounded by the remaining pink and green triangles.

Repeat to make 3 more blocks. This will form the center of the quilt.

Please see the picture above for reference.

Due to illness, I will be back later this weekend. My apologies for the delays.

This is a simple pattern, easy to make, but for some reason, I have had to remake it at least 3 times, mostly for the block being turned upside down, or in the wrong position.

Today is my DGS’s 18th birthday party and I will be gone for part of the afternoon. Hopefully, I will have the center blocks and first border on Spring Fever by 7 pm tonight.

Thank you for understanding.

Spring Fever blocks. This is the background that I chose, an older piece of floral background. The borders are not sewn on yet. I still have to put the other blocks together, and will finish it tomorrow.

And yes, I just noticed that the bottom block on the left hand corner is the wrong color.

I will be posting more later in February due to other committments.
