from my in town retreat and boy, did I have fun! I had a great time visiting with new and old friends! Didn’t finish anything but I made good progress on a couple of projects and have a baby quilt half made for donation to the guild! I decided to go with a small tote of assorted strings and am trying to use up all of the pink that I can find. I think it’s turning out cute. Next from the bottomless tote will be green. Not sure if it will make much of a dent. Oh well.
No flings for me but I was flung to from the retreat. I won a wonderful huge package of blue and purple batiks called Trellis Garden quilt kit. No pattern inside, but I can still use it for other stuff or look up the pattern online.
I want to share this with everyone. We had 3 great classes, (I only went to 2) and they were worth the cost of the retreat. The first one was Precision Piecing and showed how to use the Bloc Loc ruler. You can find it at Etsy or amazon, but they are not sold in stores.
The last one was on binding and is a game changer. It’s called Saville Hem Binding and is from Europe. You can either hem from the back or the front and it is more an accent for art quilts and it is a fun and easy method. Here is a link: (34) Facing a Quilt Instead of Binding it – WOW!!! – YouTube. This one is from SheKanSew, Easy Faced Quilt Binding – a quilt from Itty Bitty Handmade! (sewcanshe.com)
That’s all for now. See you!
