I have been cleaning my sewing room for the last few days, deciding what I want to keep, work on, or possibly rehome. I have gone through all of my large scraps and those are organized according to color and size. Don’t even ask about my jelly roll collection, that is one mess I am not ready to deal with yet.
My spare parts department is starting to get full, so now I need to decide what to do with them. Oh, I also found another bin full of fabric scraps, fq, and whatever and now I have to find a home for them. May be a bit of a challenge as my other bins are becoming muffin topped.
Now, I am looking at a huge pile of UFOs in various stages, from flimsies to pieces that have barely been started. Also throw in a few WHIPPS and WIMS, and it is a big mess. Pictures posted below. The first one is my shelving unit with two organizers on it and another bin, only because there is no room on the table.
The others are pictures of my table piled high. I would love to see pictures of your rooms, if you dare!
Hello and welcome to my website!
My name is Donna. My hubby and I are retired. We have twin daughters and are blessed with 4 grandchildren. We are owned by a cat, Purrl. who loves to supervise and is very nosy.
I have been quilting since 1996. In addition to making quilts for my family and friends, I also make charity quilts for Marjoree Mason Center and Valley Children's Hospital. Marjoree Mason Center is a local organization here that helps and supports battered and abused women and children get out of abusive relationships. Every Christmas I make several baby quilts for the women, with a small stuffed animal or toy.
I also belong to the San Joaquin Valley Quilters' Guild here in Fresno. Since I retired, I have been trying to finish most of my UFOs, but my stash is way out of control! I have lately gotten into designing quilts and enjoy that even more than sewing them! I love colors of all types and consider myself to be a true scrappy quilter and I do love playing with designs.
I am the owner/moderator of Scrappy Quilters on Facebook, where we are very active with many mystery quilts, challenges and swaps. I welcome you to come by and check us out at https://www.facebook.com/groups/ScrappyQuilters.
Thank you for dropping by and I hope to see you again soon.
